Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at Professional Staffing. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a pivotal role in the finance department, working closely with multiple departments to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial performance.
The successful candidate will have meaningful exposure to cost accounting (using standard costs) in a manufacturing environment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well with personnel at all levels in the organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for building effective relationships with plant managers and plant accountants, validating product costing methods, reconciling daily production across multiple platforms, and driving procedures around monthly physical inventory counts.
You will also work closely with the Finance team to understand production cost variances, investigate and understand variances, and develop solutions to mitigate variances going forward.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Vice President of Finance, Controller, and management team to complete manufacturing cost and gross margin budgets and forecasts.
- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
- Oversee the conduct of physical inventory counts and monitor the cycle count program.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of Cost Accounting (standard costing environment) work experience.
- Experience with Epicor or similar ERP.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Excel User.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated annual salary for this position is between $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
