Financial Operations Analyst

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Analyst to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for performing all general cost accounting and budgeting activities for assigned operational groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and develop operational unit budgets across multiple Fortis group of companies, in association with Business Leaders and Managers.
- Prepare and present regular performance and variance reviews, including participating in the analysis of activities, unit costs and program expenditures.
- Maintain a current knowledge of applicable accounting and financial systems, policies, coding and procedures.
- Participate in the development of recommendations to enhance or establish financial policies and procedures, reporting forms and formats and related issues.
- Conduct research, special analyses and prepare reports related to operational unit activities, unit costs and programs.
Requirements
- Education: Completion of Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Experience: Three (3) years directly related relevant experience.
- Strong organizational, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in teams.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, cost benefit analysis and related analytical techniques.
