Family Lawyer with Civil Litigation Expertise

Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Family Lawyer with expertise in Civil Litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing family law and civil litigation files, with the ability to handle a wide range of matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
Key Responsibilities- Independently manage family law and civil litigation files, ensuring timely and effective resolution of cases.
- Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, utilizing strong judgment and negotiation skills.
- Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, demonstrating expertise in civil litigation and family law.
- Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, showcasing exceptional advocacy skills.
- Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring seamless case management.
- Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, but not required.
- One to three years of current experience in British Columbia family law and/or civil litigation practice.
- Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with a strong work ethic and excellent judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a desire to become part of the community served.
- Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership.
We offer a competitive base salary of $70,000 – $90,000, depending on the year of call and experience. Our firm provides a comprehensive benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development.
