Family Lawyer with Civil Litigation Expertise

Job Title: Family Lawyer/Civil LitigationKey Responsibilities- Manage a diverse range of family law and civil litigation files, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Handle complex family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, demonstrating expertise in civil litigation and family law.
- Provide exceptional client service, instructing support staff and receiving instructions from clients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, showcasing strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, leveraging expertise in civil litigation and family law to achieve successful outcomes.
- Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring seamless and efficient case management.
- Experience in general civil litigation is highly valued, as it enhances the ability to handle complex cases and provide comprehensive legal services.
- One to three years of current experience in British Columbia family law and/or civil litigation practice, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Desire to become part of the community served, with a passion for making a positive impact through legal services.
- Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, with a focus on career development and professional growth.
Base salary: $70,000 – $90,000, depending on the year of call and experience, with opportunities for bonuses and professional development.
