Credit Analyst Role Overview
As a Credit Analyst with Commercial Banking at Scotiabank, you will play a vital role in contributing to the overall success of our Commercial Bank in Canada. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the execution and delivery of specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of our team's business strategies and objectives, all while maintaining compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to (Sr) Client Relationship Managers in servicing client requirements and new asks, including coordinating efforts with internal partners and directly reaching out to clients to address various activities such as collection/processing of financial reporting, satisfaction of funding requirements, onboarding needs, and resolution of escalated client challenges.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Assist with diligence and any other requirements necessary to obtain approvals, ensuring client files are complete and appropriately documented in various systems.
- Work hand-in-hand with the Sr. Credit Solutions Manager, if and when applicable, on larger, more complex credit structuring deals.
- Coordinating efforts with the client and various internal partners to ensure loan fundings are fulfilled as per customer expectations.
- General support as necessary in the annual review process and other credit-related situations needed to maintain portfolio quality.
- Support their leadership team Associate Group Lead (AGL) & Group Lead (GL) as required, working closely with and supporting from time to time the (Sr)CRM and Service Specialist (SS) with servicing, non-credit, and other servicing activities.
Requirements
- College/University degree or equivalent work experience.
- Commitment to participate in other training requirements as determined by the Bank from time to time.
- Strong commitment to excellent client service and ability to work with clients to resolve issues in an amicable and prompt manner.
- Strong organizational skills to co-ordinate and prioritize a number of concurrent requests from different Relationship Managers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to obtain agreements within Commercial Banking and partners.
- Strong written and verbal skills with proven ability to engage stakeholders and clients.
- Strong knowledge of Onboarding, Know Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering processes.
- Working knowledge of Financial Statements and credit analysis.
- Working knowledge of credit structures and applicable risk management.
- Good knowledge of fulfilment processes and roles of partners.
- Good knowledge of Commercial Banking partners and their involvement in servicing clients.
- A high degree of flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks.
- Strong commitment to accuracy, customer focus, and results focus.
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. No travel.
