Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team of Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) at our 8 West, Acute Medicine Unit. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, safe care to our patients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing compassionate care to patients with acute medical conditions;
  • Assessing patients' needs and developing individualized care plans;
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery;
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A graduate degree in Registered Practical Nursing from a recognized institution;
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Experience with patient education and health teaching;
  • Demonstrated competency in various clinical skills, including intramuscular injections, IV therapy initiation and discontinuation, blood transfusions, wound care dressing, and medication administration;
  • Minimum one year of experience in acute medical/surgical settings, preferably in a similar role.
