Police Communications Specialist

The Opportunity:

The City of Red Deer is seeking a highly skilled Police Communications Operator to join our team. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to the public, Municipal Enforcement Officers, and other third-party clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triaging all incoming requests for service to determine the appropriate follow-up or action required
  • Maintaining all relevant police databases, computer-related software, and communication devices
  • Providing critical support to Municipal Enforcement Officers to ensure their safety

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • 3 years of direct related experience in a Police communications environment or 3 years of related experience in emergency communications
  • National RCMP Telecommunications Operator Course would be an asset
  • Ability to pass RCMP Security Clearance prior to receiving an offer of employment
  • Must maintain RCMP Security Clearance throughout employment
  • Ability to type 50wpm accurately
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete tested courses in RCMP PROS User Course, RCMP CPIC Maintenance Course, RCMP Records Information Manager Course, National Telecommunications Operator Course, and Police Communications Operator training
  • Must be able to work shift work, including evenings and weekends

Benefits:

  • $37.59 to $39.57 per hour
  • 37.5 hours biweekly as scheduled
  • Shifts scheduled Monday to Sunday between the hours of 6:45 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., including Statutory Holidays

Additional Information:
