Job Summary

The Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work under the direct supervision of our Neurosurgeons to provide high-quality patient care and support the clinical activity of Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical assessment, management, and education to patients and families
  • Work in partnership with Neurosurgeons, consultants, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
  • Facilitate the application of clinical protocols and support the development and implementation of basic and advanced education programs
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care and support
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in applying advanced Pediatric and Neurosurgery knowledge, physical assessment skills, diagnostic interventions, and self-care or caregiver-led management skills for pediatric patients in an ambulatory setting
  • Proficiency in performing history and examination of the infant, toddler, child, and adolescent
  • Knowledge and assessment of developmental milestones at all stages of pediatric development, including the unique aspects of adolescent development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to lead and facilitate the development and implementation of education programs
  • Ability to make decisions in times of emergencies and work independently
