Snow Sports Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snow Sports Operations Specialist to join our team at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. As a key member of our mountain operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality ski and snowboard experience for our guests.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of snow sports and grooming requirements, as well as several years of experience in mountain operations. You will be physically capable, self-motivated, and familiar with the resort terrain. In addition, you will have a valid driver's license and be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe and efficient operation of grooming equipment within the resort
  • Grooming and preparing ski runs and Nordic trails
  • Maintaining snow conditions and levels around ski lifts and access roads
  • Assisting with transportation of freight and other goods
  • Undertaking daily inspections and care of the Grooming fleet
  • Reporting and/or eliminating any unsafe terrain hazards on groomed runs and trail access routes
  • Maintaining cleanliness and integrity of the grooming fleet
  • Displaying a high degree of personal risk tolerance that reflects the safety of all guests and staff
  • Being competent in the use of machine implements to prepare a grooming surface and correct any hazards such as rocks and terrain features
  • Displaying maturity and possessing an ability to keep calm under challenging situations
  • Knowing and adhering to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resort of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
  • Knowing and following all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
  • Knowing and complying with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
  • Performing other tasks and duties that are applicable

Physical requirements include advanced skiing and snowboarding ability, the ability to work night and evening shifts, and being in excellent physical condition with the ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
