Groomer (Winter) - Snow Sports Enthusiast

Are you passionate about snow sports and mountain culture? Do you enjoy working in a team environment and taking pride in your work? We are seeking a skilled Groomer to join our team at Fernie Alpine Resort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate grooming equipment to ensure safe and efficient snow conditions
  • Groom and prepare ski runs and Nordic trails
  • Maintain snow levels and conditions around ski lifts and access roads
  • Assist with transportation of freight and other goods
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of grooming fleet
  • Report and eliminate any unsafe terrain hazards
  • Display a high degree of personal risk tolerance and safety awareness
  • Be competent in the use of machine implements to prepare a grooming surface
  • Display maturity and ability to work calmly under challenging situations

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of snow sports and grooming requirements
  • Several years of experience in mountain operations
  • Mechanical aptitude and previous grooming experience
  • Relevant heavy equipment operating experience

Physical Demands:

  • Advanced skiing and snowboarding ability
  • Ability to work night and evening shifts
  • Excellent physical condition, with ability to lift heavy loads
