About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snow Groomer to join our team at Fernie Alpine Resort. As a key member of our snow operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality snow conditions for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain grooming equipment to ensure efficient and safe snowmaking and grooming operations
  • Groom and prepare ski runs and Nordic trails to meet resort standards
  • Maintain snow conditions and levels around ski lifts and access roads
  • Assist with transportation of freight and other goods
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of grooming fleet
  • Report and eliminate any unsafe terrain hazards on groomed runs and trail access routes
  • Be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and integrity of the grooming fleet
  • Display a high degree of personal risk tolerance and adhere to safety protocols
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a team environment and accept constructive feedback
  • Comprehensive understanding of snow-sports and grooming requirements
  • Several years of experience in mountain operations
  • Mechanical aptitude and previous grooming experience
  • Relevant heavy equipment operating experience
  • Advanced skiing and snowboarding ability
  • Ability to work night and evening shifts
  • Excellent physical condition and ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor
