About the Role:

The Quality Control Inspector is a key member of the construction team at the Carrington Group of Companies, responsible for ensuring that quality standards are met at the final stages of residential construction projects. This involves monitoring the quality performance at the final construction stage to ensure that finished construction projects meet or exceed customer expectations related to the quality and condition of their purchase.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Quality Control Inspections to ensure that the Bedrock Homes standard is maintained throughout all projects.
  • Conduct Homeowner Orientations with customers and note where the operation and maintenance of mechanical components are required.
  • Complete the Alberta New Home Warranty and submit copies to the Homeowners and office staff.
  • Support the project team in troubleshooting quality issues and developing solutions.
  • Support and maintain the overall quality management plan and associated documentation, maintaining a template library to aid in quality guidance and achievements.
  • Support the sales team with customer-facing pre-occupancy inspections.
  • Ensure overall quality meets or exceeds company quality standards.
  • Capture and communicate all noted deficiencies with now owners and site staff.
  • Perform basic on-site touch-ups, including small final home improvements.
  • Ensure mutual satisfaction for both the customer and company subsidiaries.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two or more years of experience in construction, preferably in the residential construction industry.
  • General construction knowledge, understanding of construction materials and methods related to all scopes, systems, and components necessary for the construction of residential properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacture product specifications, and warranty requirements, and identify variances from project specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of the Alberta Construction Performance Guide for New Home Warranties and Alberta Building Code.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings.
  • Basic understanding of employment and safety legislation.
  • A valid class five (5) driver's license and personal reliable transportation.
  • Criminal Records Check to the company's satisfaction.
  • A clean drivers abstract for the operation of company vehicles on public roadways.
  • Manual dexterity to work with computers, peripherals, hand tools, and equipment.
