About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Solutions Architect to join our team at BQ International Ltd. as a Solutions Architect Resource. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design and implementation of IT solutions that meet the business needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead solution evaluation and technical planning for Business Applications projects, acting as the representative for Digital, Technology and Security (DT&S).
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise strategies and focused on business outcomes.
  • Develop non-functional and technical specifications for solution RFP documents.
  • Develop proof of concepts and ensure solutions and services are successfully and sustainably delivered into operations.
  • Actively contribute to architecture boards and continued improvement of our practice.
  • Oversee the activities of technical resources to deliver solutions.
  • Work with project teams to develop the conceptual architecture design, ensuring it contains an appropriate level of guidance (business, information, application and technical perspective).
Requirements
  • At minimum, a technical lead on two (2) large ($1Million+) IT projects, in a Solution Architect role, from start to finish as part of a project team.
  • Architecture and/or hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, JD Edwards Enterprise One.
  • Architecture and/or hands-on experience with one or more of the following methodologies: Rational Unified Process (RUP), TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).
  • Experience working within a governance framework for change management and information management.
  • Expert level communicator (ability to communicate and present effectively, create effective tailored content).
  • Experience working closely with the business to guide them from start to finish through the solutioning process and into final delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Canadian federal, provincial, municipal government or similar work experience.
  • Government of Saskatchewan / Utilities or similar work experience.
  • North American job experience is considered an asset for this proposal.
What We Offer

The successful candidate will be required to work on site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm. The proposed hourly rate shall be inclusive of all travel and living costs (PST and GST are extra).
