We are seeking a skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at the Protection of Children Abusing Drugs (PChAD) program in Edmonton. The successful candidate will provide patient care services in a secure, involuntary environment, working collaboratively with a team to support the health and well-being of adolescents recovering from substance misuse and abuse.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a range of patient care services, including booking and facilitating clinics for consulting psychiatrists, following up with families, and obtaining consent for medication.
- Interpret medical information, implement prescribed interventions, and perform nursing interventions.
- Contribute to the support of an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and health maintenance.
- Make recommendations to the treatment team for health services post-discharge.
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- Two years of clinical work with adolescents.
- Psychiatric nursing experience.
- Excellent understanding of adolescent development.
