About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational background in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound and relevant certifications. You will also need to have a minimum of one year of clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary care setting. Experience with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations, as well as General Electric Vivid E95, is an asset. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested in accordance with departmental standards and techniques.
  • Work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions.
  • Use non-invasive cardiovascular technology equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Sonography Canada certification.
  • NSCMIRTP licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $34.24 - $39.96, with the possibility of a Market Adjustment. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Hours
  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly.
  • Approximately 12 months.
  • Shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends.
