About the Opportunity

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions. You will work with cutting-edge technology to assess patients and their conditions, performing Echo ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental standards and techniques.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • A minimum of one year clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary care setting
  • Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo is an asset
  • Experience with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations is an asset
  • Experience with General Electric Vivid E95 is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset

Hours
  • This is a long assignment full-time position, requiring 75 hours biweekly
  • The assignment is approximately 12 months in duration
  • Shift work is required, including evenings, nights, and weekends
Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $34.24 - $39.96, with the possibility of a Market Adjustment of approximately $0.23 biweekly. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
