Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Medical Staff Lead to oversee the medical components of the planetary health strategy. This role requires strong leadership and a commitment to environmental sustainability in healthcare decision-making and planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide direction and oversight for clinical aspects related to planetary health, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Incorporate environmental metrics into quality and safety reporting, and establish environmentally sustainable procurement policies.
  • Team Management: Work with counterparts across portfolios to establish a functional leadership structure, ensuring consultation and collaboration with executive leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Collaborate with operational leadership to develop and implement training programs for planetary health network champions and other clinical staff.
  • Partnerships: Cultivate partnerships with sustainable healthcare organizations to advance and embed sustainability into healthcare planning.
  • Research and Evaluation: Co-lead with the ED of Planetary Health on the development and execution of evaluation to identify environmental impacts and other co-benefits.
Qualifications
  • Valid licensure to practice medicine in British Columbia, Canada.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with a strong background in clinical sustainability and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and breadth of internal and external stakeholders.
