Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Medical Staff Lead to oversee the medical components of the planetary health strategy. This role requires strong leadership and a commitment to environmental sustainability in healthcare decision-making and planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to clinical stakeholders on climate change and health governance, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Incorporate environmental metrics into quality and safety reporting, establish environmentally sustainable procurement policies, and ensure planetary health clinical interventions meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy.
  • Team Management: Collaborate with counterparts across portfolios to establish a functional leadership structure, consult with executive leadership, and facilitate regular team meetings to discuss initiatives and promote continuous learning.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs for planetary health network champions and other clinical staff, keep abreast of advancements in environmentally sustainable clinical practices, and cultivate partnerships with sustainable healthcare organizations.
  • Research and Evaluation: Co-lead the development and execution of evaluation to identify environmental impacts, use data-driven insights to inform service delivery and quality improvement initiatives, and engage in research activities related to environmentally sustainable healthcare.
  • Administrative Duties: Participate in updates of Decision Support Tools, ensure clinical activities are compliant with health authority regulations and standards, and assist in the preparation of reports on program activities and outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Valid licensure to practice medicine in British Columbia, Canada.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with a strong background in clinical sustainability and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and breadth of internal and external stakeholders.
