Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Medical Staff Contracts Liaison to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing contract management, reporting, and utilization for clinical services, as well as providing advice to senior leadership and medical staff on compensation models and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the administration of existing and newly developed clinical service contracts, sessional agreements, and MOCAP contracts.
  • Develop business cases, proposals, and briefing notes for the expansion of existing and implementation of new clinical service contracts.
  • Lead negotiations of clinical and administrative medical staff contracts, ensuring terms and conditions align with organizational goals and Ministry standards.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Ministry, finance, and operational teams to develop comprehensive and compliant contractual agreements.
  • Monitor contracts for workload and contract compliance issues, and provide feedback and performance reviews to medical staff.
  • Track contract expiry dates and plan strategies for active contract management, contract renewals, and renegotiations.
  • Ensure consistent review and management of MHSU physician services budget.
  • Identify process issues and develop and implement quality program and process initiatives to improve the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of medical service delivery.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of recent related experience negotiating and managing medical staff contracts, preferably in a mental health and substance use setting.
  • Demonstrated ability in drafting contracts, negotiating contracts, and overseeing contract implementation.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with expertise in translating complex issues and presenting information in concise and meaningful ways.
  • Ability to create a shared vision and commitment to that vision by employing consensus-building strategies.
  • Demonstrated analytical critical thinking skills and experience assessing complex information and situations.
  • Ability to implement change management in a complex environment.
  • Strong interprofessional and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external and internal partners.
