Thales, a world leader in the aerospace, transportation, defense, security, and space industries, is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of East Coast Operations and Maintenance Manager.

This position offers a challenging opportunity to lead the day-to-day operations of Thales' Halifax office(s) and its personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project activities conducted from this location, ensuring compliance with Marine Vessel maintenance contracts, and developing strategic relationships with Industry, DND, FMF, and RCN.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vessel maintenance or engineering, with at least 10 years of experience in management roles. Possession of an Engineering Degree or a 3-year technical diploma in a marine technical field is preferred. Strong organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities, and experience in procurement, finance, project management, or warehouse environments are also desirable.

As East Coast Operations and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining the East Coast Operations Plan for supporting maintenance activities of marine vessels;
  • Planning, coordinating, and managing East Coast activities;
  • Receiving and transitioning East Coast ships into service;
  • Liaising with the FMF to develop and maintain good working relationships on the East Coast;
  • Ensuring Senior Management remains informed of significant events occurring on the East Coast;
  • Supporting the Procurement Manager with establishing and maintaining a subcontractor base on the East Coast;
  • Managing designated vessel maintenance and repair activities involving various stakeholders and Thales personnel;
  • Fostering Enterprise values and developing relationships with industry, DND, FMF, and RCN;
  • Supervising subcontractors and project support team personnel to achieve agreed outcomes within delegated authorities and responsibilities.

Our company offers a competitive salary range of $95,000 - $125,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience. We provide an extensive benefits program, including extended health, dental, HSA, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, cancer care program, travel insurance, employee assistance plan, and well-being program. Additionally, we offer retirement savings plans with company contributions, paid holidays, vacation days, and sick leave.
