Thales Canada is seeking an experienced Vessel Technical Expert to support its Non-Combatant In-Service Support Programs for the Royal Canadian Navy on Canada's East Coast.

About the Role

This position will work with the Thales LCMM & Engineering and Service Delivery Teams to provide project management and technical support to various Royal Canadian Navy's Non-Combatant Platforms. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the planning and execution of Classification surveys and other certification activities;
  • Coordinating with DND and Classification Society requirements for pre-docking surveys, Annual Condition Surveys, and preparing Annual Condition Survey Reports;
  • Developing repair plans and guidelines for hull and equipment repair specifications;

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you'll require:

  • A 3-year technical program diploma or equivalent in a marine technical field, or certification as a technologist or technician by a recognized body;
  • No less than 8 years of professional work experience in the marine/offshore sector within the last 15 years, preferably as a Marine Surveyor with a Classification Society or within the Royal Canadian Navy;
  • Demonstrated experience with ship dockings and dry dock refits, and understanding of Classification Society rules and regulations;
