Server Job Summary

As a Server at Aspira Rosewood Retirement Living, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents. Your passion for providing outstanding service and attention to detail will make a significant impact on our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow proper food handling techniques to ensure the highest quality of food and service.
  • Date, label, and store food properly to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Keep work areas clean and uncluttered, and complete scheduled cleaning duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of our residents, including infection control, quality management, and legislative requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, and following residents' diets and food preferences to ensure their nutritional needs are met.
  • Take orders for the first and second menu choices from residents, following their likes and dislikes to provide personalized service.
  • Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and wash/sanitize tables, chairs, and serveries to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of our dining team.

Requirements:

  • Maintain a current Safe Food Handler's Certificate to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of food to prevent accidents and ensure quality service.
  • Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, such as dishwashers, conveyor toasters, and meat-slicers, to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills to interact with residents, colleagues, and management.
  • Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Records Check, as required by law.
