About the Opportunity
The Courtyard by Marriott Kingston is seeking a skilled Bistro server to join their team. As a server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to hotel guests, taking beverage and food orders, and presenting food according to established health and presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders promptly and professionally
- Prepare food and beverages for service to hotel guests and present food according to established health and presentation standards
- Perform side-work and any other opening or closing duties as required, ensuring that stations are clean and maintained throughout the shift
- Receive guest payments and process transactions
- Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines
Requirements
- Basic reading and writing abilities
- Strong communication/customer service skills, as a significant amount of time is spent interacting with guests
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or provincial government agencies
- Available to work any shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight when required
- This position will be scheduled primarily in the mornings
