Server Job Summary
As a Server at Aspira Rosewood Retirement Living, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents. Your passion for providing outstanding service and attention to detail will make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow proper food handling techniques to ensure the highest quality of food and service.
- Date, label, and store food properly to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Keep work areas clean and uncluttered, and complete scheduled cleaning duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Maintain the cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas to prevent accidents and maintain a clean environment.
- Support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of our residents, adhering to infection control, quality management, legislative requirements, and organizational standards.
- Assist in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, and using proper portion sizes to ensure a satisfying dining experience.
- Take orders for the first and second menu choices from residents, following their preferences and dietary needs.
- Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and wash/sanitize tables, chairs, and serveries to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of our dining services team.
Requirements:
- Maintain a current Safe Food Handler's Certificate to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of food to prevent contamination and ensure quality.
- Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, such as dishwashers, conveyor toasters, and meat-slicers, to efficiently prepare and serve meals.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills to interact with residents, colleagues, and management.
- Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Records Check, as required by law, to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
