About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Science Workshop Presenter to join our team of role models. As a presenter, you will be responsible for delivering engaging science workshops to elementary school-aged children, promoting a safe, inclusive, and energizing space for all participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a positive role model for young scientists, creating an environment that encourages curiosity and exploration;
  • Participate in comprehensive training programs, presenter team meetings, and ongoing development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge;
  • Maintain open communication with teachers to schedule and confirm workshop sessions;
  • Ensure accurate updates to our workshop database as required;
  • Manage and maintain workshop materials and equipment in a safe and professional condition;

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in Science, preferably with teaching certification (BEd or ECE);
  • Significant knowledge and experience in the field of science and/or engineering;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results;
  • A dynamic presentation style suitable for young people aged 4-13;
  • The ability to express complex ideas clearly to both children and adults;
  • Excellent customer service skills, including flexibility, diplomacy, and a customer-centric approach;
  • The physical ability to move equipment weighing up to 22kg to and from workshop locations;
  • Independence and teamwork skills to work effectively within a collaborative environment;
  • Adequate space to store workshop materials at home and transport them in your vehicle;
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle;
  • Proficiency in using personal laptop, webmail, internet applications, videoconferencing hardware, and software;
  • Access to high-bandwidth internet;
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

Compensation:

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary estimate is based on industry standards and national averages.
