Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Strait Mechanical Ltd. in a permanent position. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including flux core arc welding (FCAW)
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment and previously set-up brazing or soldering machines
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in welding or equivalent experience
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Excellent oral communication and organizational skills
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an industrial setting, outdoors, at heights, in cold/refrigerated environments, and in confined spaces. The work will be physically demanding, requiring manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
