Job Summary

The Welder Specialist will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components at NRB Modular Solutions. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail, with a focus on ensuring the quality and integrity of the finished products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding using various techniques, including gas tungsten arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to accurately plan and execute welding tasks.
  • Prepare metals by cleaning, cutting, and shaping them to the required specifications using tools like grinders, saws, and shears.
  • Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Quality control by conducting visual inspections and using testing methods to ensure the quality and integrity of the welding.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal welding apprenticeship program.
  • Journeyman Welder certification or relevant trade certification.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to select the appropriate method for each job.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy and metal properties.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to follow them rigorously.
