Job Title: Welder

Strait Mechanical Ltd. is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including flux core arc welding (FCAW)
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment and previously set-up brazing or soldering machines
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in welding
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Excellent oral communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
Work Environment:

As a Welder at Strait Mechanical Ltd., you will work in an industrial setting with a focus on structural construction. You will be required to work outdoors, at heights, and in cold/refrigerated environments.
