Job Title: Welder - Structural Construction Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Structural Construction Specialist to join our team at Strait mechanical Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure that welds meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including flux core arc welding (FCAW)
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal

Requirements:

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Organized and team player
