PositionFamily Lawyer
LocationSidney
ResponsibilitiesAs a Family Lawyer, you will independently manage family law and general practice files, handling a wide range of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division. You will conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, instruct support staff, and receive instructions from clients. You will also draft pleadings, speak to chamber applications, negotiate at mediations, and appear at trials. Additionally, you will manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, and experience in general civil litigation is an asset.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice. You must be able to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills. You should also have a desire to become part of the community served and enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership.
CompensationCompensation will be determined by the candidate and match with the firm.
