Support Through Sport for Youth Coaches Development Team

Project Overview

The Coaching Association of Canada is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Support Through Sport for Youth Coaches Development Team. This 5-year project aims to enhance content, increase accessibility, and knowledge transfer related to preventing and addressing youth dating violence and promoting healthy relationships in and through sport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete required training activities, including Abuse-Free Sport Program training, unconscious bias and trauma-informed training, Support Through Sport eLearning modules, and Gender-based Analysis Plus course.
  • Participate in Development Team meetings, both virtual and in-person, to review outputs and provide feedback on project components.
  • Contribute recommendations with perspectives on improving equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring cultural safety and trauma-informed practice, and meeting the needs of partners.
  • Assist in outreach to relevant partners as required.

Team Composition

The Development Team will consist of representatives from the Coaching Association of Canada, University of Toronto Research Team, youth coaches, provincial/territorial or national sport organization representatives, and Subject Matter Experts in dating violence, gender-based violence, healthy relationships, and/or related fields.

Compensation and Benefits

Development Team members will be eligible for a $300 honoraria per event and will have their travel expenses covered during the project.

Decision-making Process

The Support Through Sport for Youth Coaches Development Team will operate under a collaborative effort, producing final recommendations to the Coaching Association of Canada, which will have the final authority.
