About the Position:

This is a temporary, part-time support staff position that will provide administrative assistance to the Office of the Registrar and Financial Aid Services at Lambton College. The successful candidate will work 24 hours per week at an hourly rate of $24.43/HR, reporting to the Associate Registrar, Student Support Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

The Office Assistant will be responsible for handling a variety of inquiries that require knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. This includes supporting academic record functions throughout the student life cycle, such as processing student ID card requests, answering inquiries regarding TA tax forms, and other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Processing and validating all student transcript requests
  • Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with student records and personal information
  • Investigating and responding to TA tax inquiries from students
  • Investigating and resolving issues with academic records to prepare for Ministry reporting
  • Processing student ID card requests and troubleshooting technical issues in conjunction with IT

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A 2-year diploma in Office Administration, Business, or Community/Social Services
  • Minimum one year experience in a position that processes specialized information and resolving problems
  • Proficiency in operating a computer
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and judgement as needed
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Able to work independently
