Job Title: Analytical Scientist - Biologics Characterization

We are seeking an experienced Analytical Scientist to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As an Analytical Scientist, you will play a key role in the characterization and development of biologics-based therapeutic drugs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of analytical assays for biologics-based therapeutics
  • Characterize viral vectors and other biologics-based therapeutics using various biochemical and biophysical techniques
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize analytical assays
  • Contribute to the preparation of buffers, serial dilutions, pH measurement and adjustment, aliquoting samples, centrifugation of samples, dialysis/buffer exchange, concentrating samples, and sterile techniques
  • Document results and analysis from experiments and communicate results at regular team/project meetings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Virology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or relevant related discipline
  • Experience in supporting the development of analytical assays, mammalian cell culture, and biologics-based therapeutics characterization
  • Working knowledge of biochemical, biophysical, and functional assays for proteins, as well as standard software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad
  • Ability to contribute to the design, development, and optimization of analytical assays, and to clearly and accurately document results and analysis from experiments
