Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our team at EMSL Analytical, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Life Sciences and experience in laboratory settings.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of bulk, air, water, and soil samples for asbestos content using advanced microscopy techniques. This will include the operation of PLM, PCM, and TEM equipment, as well as the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for recording data in a specified manner and performing quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in a Life Science field, such as Geology, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, or Chemistry, is required. Light microscopy and optical mineralogy/petrographic microscope training are a plus. The ideal candidate will have one to two years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a strong background in asbestos analysis. Excellent communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills are essential for this role.
