We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our team at EMSL Analytical, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Life Sciences and experience in laboratory settings.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing bulk, air, water, and soil samples for asbestos content using advanced microscopy techniques. This will include PLM, PCM, and TEM analysis, as well as quality control procedures. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for determining visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos materials, recording data, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry and report scanning.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in a Life Science field such as Geology, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, or Chemistry is required. Light microscopy and optical mineralogy/petrographic microscope training are a plus. The ideal candidate will have one to two years of experience in laboratory settings, preferably with asbestos analysis. Excellent communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills are essential for this role.
