Job Summary

Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Truck Technician/Mechanic III to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on diesel trucks and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment and machinery.
  • Repair and Replacement: Remove, replace, or adjust brakes, fifth wheels, electrical components, and other parts with some supervision.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and interact with customers in a professional manner.
  • Vehicle Movement: Pick up and deliver vehicles as needed.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to company standards.
  • Tool Operation: Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and precision instruments, as well as power tools like pneumatic wrenches and welding equipment.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in diesel truck repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
