Diesel Mechanic Job Summary

Nasittuq Corporation is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the North Warning System (NWS) in Northern Canada. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and corrective maintenance on power generation and electrical distribution systems at NWS radar sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines and electronic equipment.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and repairs on diesel engines and electronic systems.
  • Install and maintain components as per implementation instructions.
  • Interface with Nasittuq's Logistics Support System (LSS) staff and the NWS Command Centre to ensure smooth operations.
  • Travel between adjacent radar sites as required.
Requirements:
  • Licensed journeyman with post-journeyman experience as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic or equivalent.
  • 5 years of hands-on field experience maintaining diesel engines and electronic systems.
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment specific to diesel engines and electronics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Comfortable working in remote, Arctic conditions and in a team-oriented environment.
