Pharmacist - Primary Health Care Specialist

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in Primary Health Care. As a key member of our team, you will work under the supervision of the Manager of Primary Health Care to provide patient-centred care that optimizes safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy. This includes working with a varied group of health professionals, identifying and resolving drug-related problems, completing medication reconciliation, participating in interprofessional medical rounds, providing patient education, and making therapeutic recommendations to the medical team.
Travel will be required for this position, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the effective and efficient attainment of the goals and objectives of Nova Scotia Health Pharmacy Services.
About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with the following qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited university program in Pharmacy
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
- Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
This is a permanent full-time position with 75 hours biweekly. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $43.68 - $53.24. In addition, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
