Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Litigation Support Professional to provide administrative support for our team of associates in the areas of general civil litigation and commercial litigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative duties such as typing, photocopying/scanning, opening mail, and filing physical and electronic materials.
  • Handle routine phone calls from clients.
  • Open and close legal files.
  • Prepare and file court forms/pleadings.
  • Draft correspondence and respond to routine client correspondence.
  • Schedule applications, chambers hearings, examinations for discovery, trials, settlement meetings, and mediations (including liaising with all counsel involved in the file).
  • Prepare lists of documents.
  • Maintain BF systems for all deadlines, including court/litigation deadlines and deadlines indicated in correspondence.
  • Conduct searches for Court Services Online, BCOnline, and Land Title Office.
  • Assemble application/petition records, hearing records, and other binders for court appearances.
  • Provide preparation and support for trials and lengthy chambers applications.
  • Prepare accounts, track accounts receivable, and send out necessary reminders for payment either by correspondence or phone calls.
  • Prepare a variety of accounting forms, such as trust cheque requisitions, trust advice forms, and expense forms.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of court forms and court procedures.
  • Planning and prioritization of workload.
  • Consistently high-quality work.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to develop and implement structure.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle demands and prioritize effectively.
  • The capacity to deal with a high level of paper flow and multiple files.
  • Attentiveness to detail.
  • Excellent technical and computer skills (in particular Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Skills

Must possess strong skills in Microsoft Office 365, including Word and Excel. Experience with PC Law, NetDocs, and iPro Eclipse is an asset.

Compensation Package

Salary: $68,500 - $78,500 CAD per annum, commensurate with experience.
