Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on cultural adjustment, study and work visas, health and mental care, and other aspects related to living and studying in Canada.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and overseas agents to ensure a smooth student experience.
  • Collaborate with university departments and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive support services.
  • Assist with recruitment and promotional activities, educational fairs, and other marketing-related events.
  • Provide translation and interpretation services, as well as immigration-related support, to international students and their families.
  • Monitor students' progress, address concerns, and organize workshops and informational sessions to promote student success.
Requirements
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree or four years of post-secondary education.
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants as a Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA).
  • Four years of related experience, including a minimum of two years in a client-centred, multi-cultural environment and a minimum of two years working or studying in a foreign country where the specified language is the primary language of communication.
  • Experience with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regulations and policies pertaining to international students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in a foreign language (Hindi or Punjabi).
  • Strong cross-cultural communications skills.
  • Understanding of the Canadian post-secondary education system and environment.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License.
Working Conditions
  • Working in close proximity with students, parents, host families, stakeholders, and overseas clients in office and public settings.
  • Local and international travel.
