Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Specialist to join our team in Peterborough or Burlington, Ontario, Canada. As a Senior Project Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting project managers and project control specialists in project set-up and kick-off activities, ensuring alignment with Westinghouse PMO governance and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Assist project managers in project set-up and kick-off to align with WEC PMO governance
- Work with project managers to develop initial project schedules, lead resource loading, and project baselining activities
- Support project re-baselining as required throughout the project
- Ensure project WBS alignment between SAP cost and P6 schedule and data accuracy to support project EVM
- Conduct periodic project audits to ensure compliance to procedures and identify areas for improvement
- Recommend and support corrective actions and lessons learned implementation to improve overall portfolio performance
- Support development of procedures and standard practice for project cost-schedule integration
- Generate consolidated weekly schedule lookahead reports to support alignment with cross-functional department resource planning
- Prepare regular schedule compliance reports to monitor trending for missed tasks/delays
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in Project Controls and/or Project Management, with a preference for Canadian Nuclear Industry experience
- PMP is an asset but not required
- Experienced in Primavera (P6) scheduling
- Experienced in Earned Value Management
- Strong organizational skills
- Project management experience
- Experience in developing processes and procedures
- SAP or other enterprise software experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication, clear and concise
- Aptitude towards a fast-paced work environment and decision making
