Job Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is seeking a skilled Midwife to provide primary care to women during the childbearing year in a multidisciplinary team setting.
About the Role
This midwifery position involves delivering care in accordance with the Midwifery Model of Practice and the Standards of the College of Midwives of Manitoba. The successful candidate will maintain positive working relationships with community and hospital staff, public health services, and emergency medical services.
Main Responsibilities
- Providing primary care to women during the childbearing year
- Maintaining effective communication and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Ensuring compliance with the Midwifery Model of Practice and relevant standards
Requirements
- Recent midwifery practice experience meeting the College of Midwives of Manitoba's Standards for Currency of Practice Required for Initial/Maintaining Registration as a Practicing Midwife
- Experience working with multicultural and disadvantaged populations an asset
- Graduate of an educational program approved by the College of Midwives of Manitoba
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and neonatal resuscitation certification (NRP) with intubation required
Competencies
- Able to function effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Physically capable of performing duties under varying conditions, including lifting and carrying equipment
Estimated Salary Range
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
