Job Title: Strategic Transportation Planning Manager

Job Summary:

The Strategic Transportation Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development of transportation plans and policies that support the City of Kelowna's vision for a sustainable and livable community. This role will oversee the planning and analysis of transportation systems, including roads, transit, pedestrian, and cycling infrastructure, to ensure that they meet the needs of the community and support economic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transportation plans and policies that align with the City's strategic vision and goals.
  • Lead the analysis and planning of transportation systems, including roads, transit, pedestrian, and cycling infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including community groups, businesses, and government agencies, to ensure that transportation plans and policies meet the needs of the community.
  • Manage and oversee the development of transportation data and analytics to inform planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including MOTI and BC Transit, to ensure that transportation plans and policies are aligned with regional priorities.
  • Provide strategic oversight and vision for the development of transportation plans and policies, including the integration of economic analysis, environmental considerations, and community engagement.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a related field, such as transportation planning, urban planning, or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles, including multi-modal transportation, integrated urban mobility, and transportation data analytics.
  • Experience in strategic planning and policy development, including the ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, including the development of transportation plans and policies.
