Job Title: Community Service Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Service Worker to join our team at Terrace and District Community Services Society.

Job Summary:

The Community Service Worker will provide support and services to individuals and families in need, focusing on education, experience, and skill development. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Tasks:
    • Prepare reports and case histories to document client progress and needs.
    • Assess clients' needs and eligibility for specific services, and develop individualized plans to address these needs.
    • Implement life skills workshops and provide education on topics such as substance abuse, mental health, and relationships.
    • Conduct follow-up assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of services and make adjustments as needed.
    • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
    • Maintain accurate records and statistics to inform program evaluation and research.
  • Work Environment: This is a permanent, full-time position with a 35-hour workweek. The work language is English.
