**Job Overview**:
To provide information and support to parents involved in the perinatal and parenting support programs at Park Centre.
**Responsible to**:
Reports to Program Coordinator
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Plan for and facilitate one-on-one visits (site/home/outreach) for parents, based on participant and program goals and objectives.
- Organize group sessions, including planning, preparing, facilitating, cooking and cleanup.
- Maintain charting and record keeping.
- Participate in case conferencing/staff meetings.
- Distribute supplements/food vouchers.
- Refer participants to appropriate community resources as necessary.
- Provide/arrange transportation for program participants when appropriate.
- Advocate on behalf of the participants as necessary and appropriate.
- Keep up to date with current program resources and information.
- Performs other related duties as may be required.
- Participate in program evaluations.
- Maintain confidentiality.
**Qualifications**:
Education and Experience:
- Education in social and/or health sciences, early childhood education or other relevant education working with pregnant women and young families.
- Good working knowledge of maternal health, perinatal care, child development/health, parenting, and lifestyle issues that influence the health and well being of parents, children and the family.
- Experience in group facilitation.
- Experience working with target populations.
- Sensitivity and understanding of local cultures.
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
**Additional Information**:
Before Commencing Work:
- Successfully undergo a Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General criminal record check for working with children and/or vulnerable populations.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle required
- Valid First Aid Certificate recommended
- Provide a copy of driver’s license, insurance and driving abstract
- Provide Up-to-date immunization record including COVID 19.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $27.62-$31.06 per hour
Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
