About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Homewood Ravensview, a leading mental health and addiction treatment center in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-focused care and support to individuals with mental illness and/or addiction disorders
  • Participate in the provision of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services
  • Escort patients to off-site programs, appointments, and other planned events
  • Observe and report any changes in patient behavior, physical, or cognitive status
  • Complete and maintain related records and documentation
  • Respond to crisis situations and non-judgmentally to problematic behavior
  • Develop and implement service plans and advocate for patients
  • Ensure patient safety and well-being
Requirements
  • Certificate in Community Social Services - Mental Health and Addictions Worker or equivalent
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification for Health Care Providers
  • Knowledge of substance misuse and mental health issues
  • Basic understanding of behavior management
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with patients
  • Strong observation skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with conflict situations
