Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Groupe Canimex. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our spa and swim spa products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement design concepts for new and existing products, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop prototypes, testing equipment, and manufacturing tools.
  • Plan and execute testing programs on our test benches, ensuring that our products meet our quality and performance standards.
  • Create and prepare 3D models, production drawings, and fabrication plans from preliminary concepts, sketches, and other data.
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerance compliance on our designs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product reliability, quality, and minimize production costs.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure that prototype creation or modification meets our established standards and deadlines.
  • Analyze technical data to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and suggest short-term, medium-term, and long-term solutions.
  • Support our service, purchasing, and production departments regarding product functionality and compliance.
  • Support the creation of repair, usage, or installation procedures for our products.
  • Participate in the documentation and production of reports for research and development credit requests.
  • Execute design, 3D modeling, and analysis tasks.
  • Create production plans.
  • Execute analyses that contribute to product development and various initiatives to improve existing products.
  • Perform other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in functional tolerancing (geometric tolerances and adjustments).
  • Knowledge of machining and assembly processes (asset).
  • Mastery of 3D and 2D design software (Solidworks, PDM, and Autocad, an asset).
  • Knowledge of the Office and S-Quad suite (asset).
