Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Concepteur(trice) en génie mécanique to join our team at Groupe Canimex. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our spa and swim spa products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement mechanical design improvements for existing products and new product lines;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop prototypes and testing equipment;
  • Plan and execute testing programs on test benches;
  • Create and prepare 3D models, production drawings, and fabrication details from preliminary concepts and sketches;
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerance compliance on drawings;
  • Suggest measures to improve product reliability, quality, and minimize production costs;
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure prototype creation or modification meets established standards and deadlines;
  • Gather and analyze technical data to identify problem sources, diagnose causes, and suggest short, medium, and long-term solutions;
  • Support sales, service, and production departments on product functionality and compliance;
  • Support the creation of repair, usage, or installation procedures for products;
  • Participate in documentation and report production for research and development credit requests;
  • Execute design, 3D modeling, and analysis tasks;
  • Create production plans;
  • Execute other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English, both written and spoken;
  • Proficiency in functional tolerancing (geometric tolerances and adjustments);
  • Knowledge of machining and assembly processes (asset);
  • Mastery of 3D and 2D design software (Solidworks, PDM, and Autocad, an asset);
  • Knowledge of the Office and S-Quad suite (an asset).
