About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at MANITOBA INC. as a Restaurant Cook Leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine portion sizes and food costs, planning menus and estimating food requirements for their realization.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, preparing complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
  • Order supplies and equipment, supervising kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, cleaning kitchen and work areas.
Experience Required

A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with diverse groups, including persons with disabilities, newcomers and refugees, youth, Veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent full-time position requiring a 40-hour workweek. The primary language of work is English.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $45,000, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, and opportunities for professional development.
