Pacifica Housing is a leading organization in providing safe and affordable homes. We are seeking an Encampment and Community Outreach Specialist to join our Downtown Outreach Housing Resource Services (DOHRS) team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide outreach, assessment, placement, and advocacy services to homeless individuals residing in encampments in Greater Victoria.

About the Role

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, landlords, and community members. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Social Work or Psychology and a minimum of one year of experience working with marginalized populations.

We offer a competitive salary range of $27.39-$29.69 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental, life insurance, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support services to clients with multiple barriers to housing, including conducting comprehensive assessments and referring them to other community agencies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, landlords, and property owners/managers.
  • Manage program-specific private market subsidies and facilitate access to permanent housing for clients.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a diploma in Social Work or Psychology, conflict resolution/crisis prevention training, and a minimum of one year of experience working with marginalized populations.
